                                         Municipality of Chatham-Kent

Chatham-Kent is the largest Municipality in South Western Ontario and the 12th largest in Canada. In 1998 the County of Kent and the City of Chatham were amalgamated to form the Muncipality. The Thames River runs through Chatham Kent to Lake St. Clair while the Sydenham River flows through Wallaceburg and Dresden. Chatham-Kent has several Kilometers of shoreline along Lake Erie and St. Clair making it a desirable waterfront community. The Municipality is home to several Historical Buildings and Uncle Tom's Cabin near Dreden was a refuge for many slaves who escaped from the US. The Battle of the Thames, an Historical Battle between the British and the Americans on October 4/1813 during the war of 1812 took place on the river near Historic Downtown Kings St. in Chatham.

" It is All Here All Year" is our Motto. Boating, fishing, hunting bird watching,  shopping, beaches and History abound. A great place to visit or buy real estate with Chatham-Kent's Affordable Lifestyle!
